Percival P31 Proctor IV

In 1947 6 Percival Proctors were procured to ensure the training of wireless operators. Initially it was planned to allocate 3 aircraft to a Communications Flight and 3 to the Service Flying Training School (VVS), but these plans were never put into reality.
The first 5 aircraft were put in service with the 15th Transport Wing. One aircraft was detached temporarily to the Fighter School.
In 1948 2 Proctors were detached (together with some Dominies) to the Service Flying Training School at Brustem as a stop-gap solution, because their Ansons had to undergo maintenance at Sabca. The aircraft were used by the Radioschool, part of the Technical School at Saffraanberg. In 1949 both aircraft disappeared from the inventory, perhaps the disbandment of the Radioschool was the cause, although the exact date on which this occurred is unknown at this moment.
In the mean while the other aircraft were used as communications aircraft at 15 Wing until their retirement. In 1949 one aircraft was detached to Fontainebleau (France) for use as liaison aircraft. The last aircraft was retired from 15 Wing in 1952.
Late 1951 two Proctors were allocated to 2 Wing, probably for the use as a liaison aircraft. The other Wings had an Airspeed Oxford to their disposal for this role, in 2 Wing these were temporarily replaced by the Proctor. Both aircraft were transferred to 83 Group at Wahn (Germany) in 1953 and struck of charge shortly afterwards.
The three remaining aircraft were officially stricken from the inventory in 1954 after 2 years of storage at Wevelgem and sold on the civil market
