In the early thirties the Belgian Government decided to acquire some 12 Avro 626 Prefect (Tutor) aircraft for advanced training at the Pilot School based at Wevelgem.
All aircraft entered service by 1935 and the survivors soldiered on up to the outbreak of the Second World War.
